Question- Why a show on television on independence day is a rare thing apart from few no producers make soaps on Indian independence. Giving you an opportunity which freedom fighter you would like to play on screen and why please share.
Anshul Pandey: “I think given the time constraints in the Tv industry in terms of back to back episodes that have to be churned out it becomes very difficult to do justice to an independence story. Also with the whole scheme of things of running a TV show being about Trp’s I feel it’s very difficult for producers to pull off a show on Indian independence and thus nobody wants to take the risk. I would love to play Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose because I feel there’s still a lot to be told about his life. For me personally he comes across as a very intriguing and interesting freedom fighter”.
Dalljiet Kaur: “I think drama with a lot of glamour and glitter is enjoyed by the audience on a daily level but also I know that youth has a patriotic streak when I see theatre hooting in a movie like ‘Rang De Basanti’. I think short series should be made on Independece day and should focus on even those freedom fighters who are not given the limelight. I would love to portray anyone who fought for Independence as every ones a hero in my eyes”.
Natasha Singh: “I think it’s just because it’s a holiday so they need to provide entertainment for the ones sitting at home. ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ is the only name that comes to my mind. Because she was a great example of an ordinary woman who became extra ordinary because of her inner strength and convictions”.
Sandeep Anand: “There were shows but now the craze of those shows have reduced if compared to earlier time. If given me a chance to portray a freedom fighter, I would love to give life to Bhagat Singh on screen because I am inspired by his ‘Garmjoshi’, ‘Teekha mijaaz’ or ‘Kadak tevar’ also as I am a Punjabi so I would love to act something in my very sweet Punjabi language because I am familiar with the culture also”.
Shweta Munshi: “Sarojini Naidu, ‘the lady nightingale Of India’. To enact this remarkable women with great intellect and courage would be Fortunate indeed”.
Vivek mishra:!“ I would like to portray the character of Chandrashekhar Azad! Guess all producers are away that’s is why no patriotic serials are being made as audience want only glamour and drama to watch on screen”.
Sachin Parikh: “I am really inspired by not one but two freedom fighters immensely in my readings. One was Chandrashekhar Azad
who was one young boy who in process of his revolution for the freedom of our country died fighting for the nation at the tender age of 25 and another strong man the entire country adores is Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel but if u ask me to do a role on any of the freedom fighter I think I would love to play Netaji Subhashchandra Bose”.
Ssharad Malhotra: “I feel I am blessed for being chosen to play a large than life character called Maharana Pratap in the show ‘Bharat ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap’ on national television”.
Naman Shaw: I don’t know why the producers and channels are scared to feature a patriotic show as they always entice audience. I personally would be very happy if I get a chance to play Mangal Pandey.
Mrunal Jain: Lack of freedom fighters show on TV is really shameful. If Mahabharat and Ramayan can be made again and again, why not a show on these heroes? I would like to play Tatya Tope, a real hero and mentor of Jhansi ki Rani Lakshmibai.
