Pratyusha Banerjee suicide: Rahul Raj threatens to jump from the hospital building

After the suicide of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, her boyfriend, who is reportedly involved in her death, also threatened to commit suicide by jumping off the hospital building.

Rahul Raj Singh, who was admitted in the hospital for 12 days now, has finally been discharged.

Rahul has been charged with abetment to suicide, following Pratyusha’s death. Dr. Santosh Goel, who runs Shri Sai Hospital in Kandivali said, “He is still in depression.”

According to a leading daily, Rahul locked himself up in the hospital’s washroom on April 15 after coming back from his visit to the police station. He threatened the doctors that he would jump off the hospital building. His relatives called the doctors who finally convinced him to get out of the washroom.

On the other hand, Banerjee’s parents have alleged that the hospital authorities are involved with Rahul to save him from police interrogation. “We think all of them have taken money from Rahul to give him protection and get him bail on medical grounds,” said Pratyusha’s father in a letter he sent to the Indian Medical Association.

Dr. Goel, who has been treating Rahul Raj Singh, said, that he had suicidal tendencies and was seriously unwell.

After the 24-year-old ‘Balika Vadhu’ actress allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her flat in suburban Goregaon on April 1, a case under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504, 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC was registered against Rahul on April 3 following a complaint lodged by the actress’ parents.
